Serving those who served us. Assistance for veterans and their dependents
The Alameda County Veterans Service Office (CVSO) provides veterans, their dependents and survivors with information regarding US Department of Veterans Affairs and CalVet benefits, and to help file claims for these benefits.
The Veterans Affairs Commission advises and assists the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to veterans and their families as may pertain to meeting their needs for veteran's benefits, housing, food; shelter, transportation, and employment.
We understand the claims and application process is complex and often overwhelming, and our accredited Veteran Services Representatives are experienced and trained to help ensure that all of the necessary forms and applications are completed.
There are many benefit programs that veterans, dependents of veterans, and their survivors may be entitled to. Please check out the links below for more information.
We help veterans and their families identify and apply for services they may be eligible to receive
We can direct you to the correct arm of the Department of Veterans Affairs, available crisis resources, employment & housing programs and more.
